African Americans Honored at Evergreen Cemetery

The Riverside African American Historical Society, Inc. and the Evergreen Historic Committee have honored African Americans buried at Riverside’s Evergreen Memorial Historic Cemetery with a monument designed by BerniE.

 

At the request of Judge Victor Miceli, the Riverside African American Historical Society, Inc. committed itself to identifying as many African Americans as possible who were buried in the cemetery.  The unveiling of the monument was held April 22, 2012.

 

The cemetery is located at 4414  14th Street, Riverside, California, 92501 at the foot of Mount Rubidoux.

 

Monument honoring African Americans buried at Evergreen Memorial Historic Cemetery. The monument is located at the North End of the oldest section of the cemetery, closest to 13th Street.
